My husband and I adopted two kittens (almost 3 months old) about 3 weeks ago and have them in their own room overnight and during large chunks of the day. We casually mentioned it’d be cool to put a camera in the room so we could see what they are up to, but then one night I heard them seriously rough housing. I wanted to check on them, but didn’t want to go in the room (the little boy is incredibly vocal and going in there would have prompted a 30 minute bout of meowing to get out of the room), so on a whim I ordered this camera.It arrived quickly, setup was a breeze, and I’m astounded with the quality and functionality. My husband and I both have the app on our phone, monitor them on and off while they are in there, and it helps us prepare for any messes. The night vision is amazing, I was really impressed with how well we can see in there during the night. At first I was ready to turn off the motion detection notification, but realized it’s actually really helpful during the night, as the time stamp of the push notification(s) helps me know if they have been up for a whileWe ordered two more cameras to put in other spots in the house to help us monitor kitties without needing to get up every few minutes

Nice, inexpensive high resolution camera -Update – fatal flaw with usefulness -no snapshots
Update again. Everything changed when I put an SD card in. I can now see the triggered clips directly recorded on the SD card in the Kasa app without removing the card. You must enable 24 hr recording for this to work. While they still don’t send you a snapshot of the triggered event there is a screen grab function that you can take while viewing a clip. So this camera is now very useful. And you don’t have to subscribe to Kasa Care to use this. Sorry about the incorrect review but they didn’t mention this in their documentation. Would still like to see this app working on a Windows PC but right now is just Apple IOS and Android supported.Update: While the picture quality is very good and can live stream well, unfortunately, this camera never sends me a picture of event that triggered my camera. When I get the notification on my phone whoever or whatever triggered the incident is long gone with no proof of the event.*** Update: This is wrong but you must put an SD card in***Now, you can put an SD card in (not supplied) the camera but to view the videos recorded but you have to pull the SD card out and view it on another device.*** Update: this is also incorrect*** Sorry. This only works if you have 24 hour surveillance set in he app. Also, you can pay for Kasa Care, their online cloud service and that costs $3 / month. Why this camera can’t just send you a snapshot of whatever triggered it, I don’t know. This camera was so inexpensive with excellent video quality, so I’m keeping it, but this is a fatal flaw in the usefulness of this camera. This could easily be fixed with a software update.I have those Kasa remote on/off light units (times 3) so I thought I’d add a Kasa camera to the mix. I went for the higher resolution camera which they refer to as QHD. It was worth the extra $10. The Kasa app works but they don’t have a PC version (Windows or Mac). So I only have the app on Android and Apple phones / tablets. I will get a micro SD card to record. Apparently, there’s a 256 gig maximum storage limit. I also like the fact that you can turn off the light that shows the unit is on. Although if you have tracking switched on the movement of the lens (and the whirring noise that makes) is a dead giveaway.

Such a cute and useful camera!
This is a really cute and useful camera. The app is easy to use, the installation process is a breeze, and the video quality is better than expected, especially in the night mode. One of my favorite features is motion detection; it sends me a notification anytime it detects someone, and the camera follows the subject. I had doubts when purchasing this camera because I thought I would have to pay for a subscription to watch my apartment live, but the subscription is entirely optional; you only need it to save videos to the cloud. Otherwise, an SD card works just as well. I’m really happy with this purchase!

Really clear day and night vision. Seems to pick up movement and tracks motion well (cam will move to direction of movement and sound well). It was a bit challenging in getting the camera connected to WIFI. It turned out I had to restart the router, not jist.by unplugging it from the wall, but removing the power cord from the router. I tried all the troubleshooting steps provided online to no avail. I almost gave up bland thought to return the camera but then I found that they have 24/7 support and I was able to chat with a live person (not just AI bot). I got Bryant Chacon, a representative who was extremely knowledgeable and patient. He was able to walk me through everything and fairly quickly helped me get the camera connected.One suggestion I would like as an option, is to change the notification sound for this app. It just sounds like my messages and it would be better if the alert sound was programmable so it can be different and noticeable.

Pedí una cámara en junio, que dejo de funcionar de manera parcial en agosto, pero no había tenido la posibilidad de ponerme en contacto con ustedes, hay alguna forma de no sentirme estafada por la empresa? Ya que busque a través de la.app y no hay modo de devolver o pedir un reembolso, pues se excede de los 30 días; sin embargo, es una cámara que no ha sido expuesta a nada que pudiera dañarla, cómo podría en 2 meses dejar de funcionar de la nada?Agradezco si me dejan saber qué medio puedo usar para ponerme en contacto con quién corresponda por favor!
