Great video 4k quality, easy to install
I recently installed this RedTiger Dash Cam System on my new Grand Highlander Platinum. The install was fairly easy to do. Routing the cabling for the rear camera took the longest time as I ran the cable inside the edge of the doorroof seams. The 3m tape holds the rear camera in place as it peers out the back window. A mount with 3M tape holds the front camera in place. It also has a slide snap-on feature which makes removing the camera from the mount fast and easy.Power for the cameras comes from the Grand Highlanders TSS 3.0 front camera module using the Mangoal Dashcam Power Adapter for Toyota 16 Pin (Model D). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D8VZG38PThis is actually the second Dashcam Power Adapter I’ve ordered; I used the first one to install a new camera system on my Camry XSE 2025. I wrote a separate review of that product which can be seen on the product page. This camera system can also be powered via Cig lighter outlet however the outlet in both the Grand Highlander and Camry are in the center console so going with the Dashcam Power Adapter is a cleaner solution. Redtigers Camera system also supports Parking monitoring however to use this you need to install it using an always one power system that connects directly into your fuse box. Their listing has a link to their auxiliary power system for purchase.Using the camera is fairly simple and is plug and play, I didn’t even need to set the date and time on the camera. The camera comes with a satellite receiver to track location during trips it is possible that the camera is automatically setting the correct datetime info using data from the satellite connection. If you’ve connected the rear camera the main screen will present the front camera with a PIP of the rear camera feed. Pressing the power button cycles through just the front, rear cameras then back the PIP view. In the phone app you can move the PIP but on the physical camera it only displays it in the upper left corner. The camera also comes with a 64GB card and offers rollover recording so you won’t ever run out of space. The STARVIS 2 sensors have amazing low light aperture settings which make night recording bright with easy to see images of cars, signs and license plates. Keep in mind the front camera records in 4K while the rear records in 1080P.As with most high-end camera systems this one provides a Wifi connection. Once connected you can view a live feed, update camera settings, download video clips and view trip information. The system is robust with great image quality day and night and easy to use features. Wifi Connectivity is a bonus and makes management even easier. The price isn’t bad for the features provided, ordering the Mangoal Dash cam Power or the fuse box power kits will also make your installation clean and professional.

Running without wire tucked away at the moment.
Had a fairly new car and got rear-ended by a truck. Driver backed up and illegally passed us on the left side in oncoming lane and zipped off. Even if we had the license plate, we had no proof, no witness, no camera. This is one of many options available for a dash camera front/rear. The last camera I purchased I took to a car electronic shop to have wiring run to be hidden.Right now, I have the cables running right down the center of the minivan to attach the rear camera on the hatch window. I didn’t want to pay for an install until testing the camera. Let me tell you hubby has no interest to run the cable. Hubby has no interest of climbing in the back of the minivan to tilt the camera to correctly be focused behind, right now we are capturing way to the left and not even correctly behind. Sadly, I have a hubby who doesn’t believe in exerting himself to accomplish many tasks. So my neighbor and I (spouse/wifey) will run the wiring when neighbor comes back from holiday travel. I can’t speak on the SD card, or using the Iphone capabilities just yet.We did have to turn OFF/disable car play on the Iphone for the app to recognize find the wifi.this is not just a plug it in and go. It takes some effort to get the app to work and recognize wifi Takes effort to tilt the camera the exact way – so a 2-person job. For us, the car has to be turned on to record, so it won’t work to film when car is parked and off. Effort still to be done to run and hide the wire, or the quotes I got were $175-$200 to run the wire.

Peace of mind at a fair price
This dash cam is really beginner-friendly and easy to set up. You can set up this dashcam by plugging everything into the cigarette lighter (which will only record when the car is powered) or by hardwiring it (which will record parking incidents). For the car I was installing it in, I opted to do the cigarette lighter because I usually keep that car parked inside, and when I am out in public, I tend to park away from other vehicles. The dash cam comes with a front and a rear, so you’ve got both ends covered.Quality is good. Obviously, from far away, you cannot make out plates, but once cars come into eyesight, you can make out the plates from the footage. Low light was good because of the STARVIS sensor. Nothing washed out or blurry for those night drives. I installed the dashcam right under my rearview mirror, and the lens was able to capture nearly everything in front of me.App functionality works well and is intuitive to view footage. I’ve had no issues with missing or choppy footage yet. I plan to eventually hardwire this into the fuse and upgrade the SD card. It comes with a 64GB card included, but I live in hot conditions and want to get one of those Samsung Endurance ones.

Great Quality!
After two accidents in 5 years, neither of which I caused, I finally got a dash cam! People are way too distracted on the roads and it’s not worth leaving things up to chance! This dash cam is a great choice! I have never had a dash cam before so I can’t compare with other products, but so far I am super happy with the Redtiger Dash cam. Installation took about an hour and a half and all the wires are neatly concealed under the headliner. The video quality is excellent. The front cam is higher resolution than the rear camera, but both videos are adjustable in the settings. The camera connects to an app on your phone and the rest falls into place. I will never be without a dash cam again and would highly recommend this camera.
